Aphorisms by eminent yoga teacher Gregorian Bivolaru

Aphorisms by eminent yoga teacher Gregorian Bivolaru

  1. Physical beauty devoid of love, devoid of kindness, devoid of godly virtues, totally devoid of wisdom is often a tempting lure: it attracts you, it traps you, it often chains you and sometimes even destroys you if you are not careful, lucid and wise.

  2. True justice consists in giving everyone their due, after discovering the Truth.

  3. True justice establishes and respects the rights of the weak and the destitute.

  4. It is good to remember that only God will judge us after our so-called “death” for all our actions, even if here on earth we are almost always subject to the judgement of humans.

  5. A judge who rushes to judgement is always dangerous, as he may pass unjust sentences.

  6. Wise and admirable will be the judge who listens very carefully, who properly analyses everything presented to him and who ultimately decides and passes a just sentence.

  7. It is always the real facts that define and at the same time judge man. Every human being can always be judged fairly on the basis of his or her actions.

  8. Just as it is not possible to judge a tree by its bark alone without making a mistake, one should never consider only appearances.

  9. Always judge others exactly as you would want to be judged yourself if you were in a situation similar to that of the accused.

  10. What is truly horrible in this world is cruel and merciless justice, totally devoid of compassion.

  11. It is always necessary for true justice to be the living Truth in action.

  12. The evil we say about others only produces more evil.

  13. Stupidity is, among other things, not seeing at all what another man easily sees when he is intelligent.

  14. There is no greater sin than stupidity, for it then attracts all other sins, small and great.

  15. Stupidity often means, among other things, wanting to draw senseless conclusions at all costs.

  16. Those who cultivate ignorance enter into blind darkness, but those who are content with their partial, superficial and fleeting knowledge enter into even thicker darkness.

  17. Immense, constant and abysmal stupidity is the intimate sister of wickedness. It is all the more terrible when it manifests itself in the form of the aggressive, relentless and gratuitous stupidity of perverts and sadists.

  18. In the case of truly stupid people, who appear calm but lack a clear conscience, it is not intelligent words or wise advice that help them to learn, but rather illnesses, which are the cause of much suffering and misfortune that they eventually face.

  19. Dozens of causes of grief and numerous reasons for fear befall the stupid man almost every week. None of this happens to the wise man, because he immediately foresees and promptly anticipates certain saving solutions. The stupid man does not even suspect the existence of these intelligent saving solutions.

  20. The foolish, narrow-minded and obstinate man firmly believes that only what he thinks or does is always the best.

  21. It is not the one who does not know something who is foolish—for in that state he is only ignorant—but it is clearly foolish to know (everything that is urgent to know) and act (again and again) as if one knew nothing.

  22. When a human being often does foolish things themselves or tolerates various stupidities or follies of others, which are even obvious, they thus indirectly prove that they are stupid.

  23. Almost always, a stupid, egocentric person, full of arrogance, pride and vanity, will easily find someone even more stupid than themselves, who will be wrongly disposed to admire them unconditionally and even follow them blindly.

  24. A person who has truly attained a high degree of beneficial and creative intelligence never commits foolish acts, not even insignificant ones.

  25. The wise man adapts best and even easily to the world in which he lives; the one who lacks wisdom most often insists on wanting to change the world in his own image. That is why the current decline of humanity owes much to people who totally lack wisdom.

  26. Recognising honestly and sensibly, and also humbly admitting that one does not know something, is, among other things, a first sign of wisdom.

  27. Intelligent, clear, penetrating, almost always focused, attentive and sufficiently strong thinking, already free of all stupid and paralysing prejudices, allows us to see everything much more clearly. Ultimately, all this helps us to live long, healthy lives and to be almost always happy.

  28. Simply realising that one is very stupid or still doing silly things, big or small, which one later becomes aware of, is not yet proof of creative intelligence.

  29. While great geniuses are almost constantly persecuted, mocked and despised, when – later on – their genius is finally recognised, their well-deserved fame grows even more.

  30. It is never impossible, and indeed it is common and banal, for a great genius or a great sage to be considered an idiot or even a madman by the ever-clouded gaze of a fool.

  31. One can never learn brilliant ideas from a stupid man, nor observe such ideas appearing in him, but it is good to know that men of average intelligence can nevertheless say or do, more rarely or more often, stupid things. These are indirectly sui generis criteria for assessing our real degree of intelligence. If we no longer say or do stupid things, this is significant and indicates that we have already largely eliminated stupidity from our being.

  32. In a group where stupidity is clearly predominant, it can be said that the perpetuation of stupidity is not a binding force but a dissolving one.

  33. Ignorance and stupidity can rightly be considered the greatest enemies of humanity. They are the roots of all vices and perversions. Suffering, illness, attachment, wickedness, error (sin), jealousy, disorder, selfishness, pride, lust, misery—all these find their origin in both abysmal ignorance and stupidity.

  34. The wicked, the obstinate, the malicious and the perverse often display, under certain conditions, a strange and incessant state of demonic solidarity, which could serve as an example worthy of being followed (but only and exclusively for good) by the good and the virtuous.

  35. Never underestimate the bizarre, destructive, deviant and insidiously corrupting power of stupid, aggressive and wicked people who, when they gather together and then act in unison as a group, with great obstinacy, in evil directions, become capable of much wickedness and mischief.

  36. When the character and dominant orientation of a human being are not yet clear to you, look very carefully – when you have the opportunity – at the friends they have, for this is also how you will be able to know who this being really is (beyond appearances).

  37. Apart from the experience of a certain type that one acquires in this way – that of never being like the malicious person and never doing what they do – no one will gain anything truly good from associating with a wicked, perverse or vicious person.

  38. If we choose to look back with great attention and lucidity, we can easily discover that wise human beings and geniuses have often had to face furious opposition, most often irrational, ferocious and violent, which was relentlessly directed against them precisely by stupid, aggressive, perverse, stubborn, malicious, petty and mediocre human beings.

  39. For the initiated ones, it is very significant that folklore says, “Tell me who you associate with, and I will tell you who you really are and what you are in reality.”

  40. It is deeply significant that a human being who is constantly motivated only by eminently beneficial intentions works hard and meticulously to carve a beautiful crystal chalice, while another human being, who is mainly motivated by hatred, destructive tendencies and various evil intentions, can then instantly break it with a stone, only a few days after the completion of this wonderful chalice.

  41. The human being who is truly very good (including in his heart) and pure in many ways, spontaneously sees other human beings who are truly good as good and therefore never makes a mistake in this regard.

  42. Unjustified fear, hesitation to act promptly in beneficial directions, and the indecision of honest people often make possible the bizarre triumph and even the impertinent imposition of miscreants who display great and constant impudence.

  43. The wise man with a good heart never associates with the malicious, the hypocritical, the perverse, the satanic, the insane, the demonic, and the deceitful; and the malicious, the perverse, the satanic, the insane, the demonic, the hypocritical, and the deceitful flee, as the devil flees from incense, from the presence of the very wise man with a good heart. In their folly, wickedness, spiritual blindness, stubbornness, and misguidance, these poor, perverse, fallen, foolish, rebellious, bewildered, and almost always discontented human beings stubbornly believe that the wise man is a deceitful and wicked man. For these misguided, confused, quarrelsome, discontented, hateful people, tormented by bizarre grudges and demonic doubts that are perverse, everything is upside down and seems right to them. In their twisted, senseless, insane, already inverted and bizarre vision, Godly Good is something very bad, while the diabolical, deceitful, tormenting, disruptive and obvious evil is for them a great good, which they hasten to adopt immediately and often follow without hesitation until the end of their lives.

  44. No matter how great and numerous your beneficial efforts may be, seeking as much as possible (constantly) to please everyone, you will always end up displeasing someone. As you can see, even God does not and will never succeed in pleasing all people, because their desires of all kinds are more or less senseless, often chaotic, stupid, superficial, innumerable and, moreover, rarely beneficial and full of wisdom.

  45. One must be very careful, because in certain conditions, a great subtle power appears and even manifests itself through the gaze. Accompanied by an evil and powerful thought, such a gaze can even be harmful. In folklore, this reality defines what is known as having ‘the evil eye’.

  46. Since, until proven otherwise, most of us can, most of the time, only know others through their words, it is necessary to believe them (with the exception of stupid lies that are obvious to us) at least until their actions betray them.

  47. It is imperative to realise that, in reality, malicious frankness is most often a mask for insolence and brutality.

  48. It is never necessary to listen to everything that our conscience, in obvious contradiction to common sense, sometimes dictates to us, even in a tyrannical manner. It is never useful and not in the least creative to give free rein to base impulses and vices.

  49. Almost all human beings who have ever slipped into demonic or satanic states are easily recognizable, precisely because they always see and consider Godly Good as something evil, while satanic evil is seen and considered by them as something very good.

  50. Our thoughts, intentions, aspirations and desires arise, even when we are completely unaware of it, in the secret hearth of the heart. Knowing and understanding all this, it is imperative to bear in mind that if this hearth (the subtle, mysterious hearth of the Heart) is pure, then it goes without saying that our beneficial thoughts, intentions, aspirations and desires will be spontaneously pure. Let us therefore remember that if the subtle and mysterious center of our Heart is not sufficiently pure, then it will easily become possible for our thoughts, intentions, aspirations and desires to be impure and flawed.

  51. We must not be afraid to affirm, even in public, all that is right, wise, godly and true.

  52. The most precious adornments of the soul of a human being are above all love, justice, integrity, humility, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, contentment, heroism, courage, sthenic humour and truth. All these elements are and remain in eternity the essential Attributes of God.

  53. It is important that we always remain completely true to ourselves. Let us never hastily or wrongly change our beneficial, justified, wise opinions and our harmonious conduct, which is godly integrated, solely to please others.

  54. True wealth, which is supreme and imperishable for us, consists in being more and more satisfied, thanks to the ecstatic, exhilarating and mysterious presence of God. This wealth is always of immense use to us when we leave this world for good (at the moment of what is called death).

  55. When we manage to spontaneously transform most of the human beings with whom we come into contact and at the same time succeed in loving those who fully deserve it in a natural and detached way, such an attitude awakens and then energises various artistic abilities in our inner universe, which gradually transform us and at the same time awaken and refine our aesthetic sense.

  56. A great happiness floods our being and can then be deepened when we are able to continue to aspire strongly to all that is pure, wonderful, edifying and godly and which is already at our disposal.

  57. It is necessary for every human being to realise that when they are no longer able to marvel at anything or anyone around them, such a persistent state shows that this human being has already ceased to live properly, for all this indicates that their heart is blackened and their soul is dead.

  58. A beneficial, new and delicate pleasure floods our being and euphorically expands us into the unlimited when, through a deep state of empathy, we produce an intense state of pure and fulfilling pleasure in the beloved whom we adore.

  59. When we love intensely, constantly and without measure a human being of the opposite sex who also loves us, it becomes easy to discover how happy we can be when we allow the sublime subtle energy of the Godly Attribute of Godly Love, which pours out from God into and through our inner universe, to play fully in our being.

  60. No true spiritual path seems long when you walk it with enthusiasm, in the company of a human being whom you love immensely and who loves you.

  61. To love extraordinarily intensely, deeply, constantly and without measure means being able to express love fully, often without the need for words.

  62. Wonderful, sublime, godly follies, also integrated in a godly way, always remain deeply transformative and unforgettable existential experiences that we will never regret.

  63. Human beings who are capable of transforming us in an exemplary way and who love us intensely, deeply, constantly and without measure thus sow heavenly seeds in our inner universe which, when they germinate and grow, transform our being into a corner of Paradise.

  64. Human beings who retain their pure and intact childlike soul throughout their lives spontaneously feel the mystical presence of God and communicate very easily with their guardian angel. Moreover, these human beings never grow old inside. Their souls are always young and happy.

  65. True friends are most often found after a long search. It is almost impossible to leave such extraordinary friends, and it is impossible to forget them… But these legendary friends are only deserved if we ourselves are true friends.

  66. The reason – most often unsuspected – why human beings love intensely, deeply, constantly and without measure is also the possibility of being deeply and permanently ennobled and transformed, thanks to the sublime subtle energy of love that floods our being and comes from God.

  67. The most effective recipe for happiness: promptly destroy all worries, multiply the wonderful godly opportunities offered to us, gather and even multiply the sublime beneficial pleasures which, when we give them to the human beings we adore, fill us with immense joy and allow us to discover surprising pleasures that are thus promptly revealed to us.

  68. Let us always act in such a way that each new week of our life is lived in an eminently beneficial and godly integrated manner, for we must never lose sight of the fact that, in reality, each day of our life is a beautiful piece that is part of the composition of our entire life.

  69. Any state of hatred disturbs our being, affects our body and ages us, and any spontaneous and sincere smile significantly transforms our body in a beneficial way and rejuvenates us.

  70. In any mutual, constant, overflowing and already legendary love, some of the astonishing aspects that appear and manifest themselves are and remain, at the same time, a charming mystery for both lovers.

  71. The human being who loses himself, who melts into the beneficial passion that often overwhelms him, is in reality not lost at all when compared to a human being in whom all beneficial passion has already disappeared.

  72. Frankness does not only mean rushing to say everything one thinks, because in reality it means thinking deeply and lucidly about everything one says.

  73. The future will always be wonderful for all human beings who always act in a beneficial and godly integrated manner, right now, in the present.

  74. If you truly want your beneficial aspirations to come true, do not be lazy and do not allow yourself to slip into inaction and inertia.

  75. Temptations exist, they appear at the right moment, and the weak waver and then fall into temptation, while the steadfast, the strong, the courageous and the heroic never give in to temptations. This is how they ultimately triumph over all temptations.

  76. In the case of a great, intense, constant and exemplary love, it is not enough to be face to face or body to body, because in such love, it becomes essential to merge into a wonderful whole that expands euphorically to infinity, thanks to the subtle and sublime energy of love that flows in incessant waves in and through the being of the two lovers.

  77. Changeable, superficial, fickle and foolish women often flee surprisingly quickly from a wonderful romantic relationship, because they foolishly believe that they have a constant need for inferior and superficial entertainment. These women never return to such a relationship afterwards because, paradoxically, they only change for the worse and do not feel a compelling need for happiness.

  78. Mutual, constant and irresistible love is a heavenly experience that ennobles us. This love manifests itself as a subtle and sublime energy that pours into and through our expanded being and comes from God. This love diminishes and ends when both lovers (or even one of them) cease to be anchored and no longer remain in the magical moment of the beginning. The separation of one or both from the magical moment of the beginning then marks the end of their romantic relationship, and this end is final when both cease to live in the mysterious shared world of those who love each other.

  79. The love that suddenly appears between two human beings of the opposite sex, when it is intense, deep, constant and overflowing, makes us realise that it is true love, and thus reveals itself to us as legitimate love.

  80. When a human being allows themselves to be overcome by a state of ease, they also allow themselves to be insidiously overcome by negligence and indifference.

  81. It is always wonderful to be ready to be pleasantly surprised by everything that appears at the right moment in our daily lives.

  82. It is obvious to wise people that a human being cannot have a lasting relationship and fruitful communication with their neighbour if they have not yet managed to have such communication with themselves.

  83. Intense, deep, irresistible and constant love no longer cares about the past and is hardly interested in the future, for such love is ever fresh and ever new.

  84. The space of a lifetime is, beyond appearances, the same, whether we go through it being very happy and singing, or whether we go through it mostly unhappy, suffering and crying.

  85. Perfection does not only mean doing something great and beautiful, because beyond appearances, perfection means that we do what we have to do with beauty and constant greatness.

  86. It is good for human beings who are full of humour and endowed with a great deal of common sense to get into the habit of laughing, at least the day after, at the various stupid ideas they had the day before.

  87. Let us remember that there is no shame in preferring – even often – states of overflowing happiness that are godly integrated.

  88. It is always wonderful to travel, being very happy and filled with justified hopes, before reaching the godly goal that one has set for oneself.

  89. Beyond appearances, what is difficult but beneficial is precisely what can be done immediately, and the beneficial impossible that is actually possible also represents everything that requires a little more time but also a lot of enthusiasm.

  90. From God’s point of view, even great masterpieces are nothing more than more or less successful attempts to consciously or unconsciously imitate God’s supreme perfection and beauty.

  91. The good Lord never mocks, never deplores and never hates anything or everything that exists, for He alone and only He is capable of fully understanding all that has been, is and will be in eternity.

  92. Always, without exception, all the words we have not spoken are and remain in eternity the mythical flowers of silence.

  93. The scholar is not only the man who gives us elaborate answers, for he must also be the one who formulates certain essential questions.

  94. From the wise man’s point of view, godly chance is in reality an enigmatic necessity, and happiness a vocation.

  95. It is possible to learn much more about a human being when interacting intimately with them in an amorous game based on perfect erotic continence, mutual love, exemplary transfiguration and prior consecration of the path, than if one chooses to spend a year with the same human being, having almost endless ordinary and formal conversations.

  96. It is essential to realise that it is not at all wise to cut ties when they can be untied with caution, patience and lucidity.

  97. In reality, the only thing that will never change is the fact that almost everything is about to change, for better or for worse.
